Hello, its a great opportunity for me to interact with the peoples of my great community through this platform. We are the descendants of Maharaja Chitragupta and its proud to be a Kayastha. What has been observed now a days that our community- kayasthas, even after holding a huge majority in hundreds of towns and cities and in so many provinces of India do not have suffficient and proportionate political representations. We have adopted various social networking platforms just for the purpose of matrimony, get together and so on but a big target as required in Democratic system to have proper representation in Parliament, assemblies and local bodies in proportion as India as whole is still required to be achieved.
With the help of this site, I request all of my community fellows to think over it and plan to meet out the dreams of our heroes- Netaji Subhash, Dr Rajendra Babu and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Jai Ram ji ki. …. Indeed it is a great site for all Mathurs. But besides discussing only goodies goodies let us also highlight the menace of girls misusing provisions of Hindu Marriage Act by instituting false cases against their husband and in laws when they don’t fall in line with their aspirations . This disease has lately spread to Mathur community also. Though Mathurs are famous for not demanding any dowry but some Mathur girls with the tacit support of their parents are tarnishing the good image of the community by falsely instituting dowry cases against their husband and in laws if they do not fulfill their agenda. At least half a dozen cases have recently come to light . And UP is leading from the front. It is high time that the elders of our community take a serious note of this menace and device ways and means to deal with this problem urgently and effectively. We can consider punitive measures like social boycott and exposing such culprits. This is a serious issue which is tarnishing the image of Mathurs in the eyes of other communities . I will like to invite suggestions and comments on this issue from our Biradari members.

Jai Ram ji ki to all Mathurs. Mathurs are definitely different as this has been observed and expressed by many. I wish we could be closely knot like the Parsi community which is a like a family .Earlier this must have prevailed as in Delhi Nai Sarak and certain specific areas are only for Mathurs so it prevailed till we all moved out. Being a service class have to fulfill our professional commitments but unlss some sense of security and reliability prevails we shall not be able tp preserve the distinctive aspects and factors of Mathurs. I might be wrong .Correct me. Jai Ram ji ki

To all Kayastha Community. The Serial YEH PYAAR NA HOGA KAM is passing very derogatory and obscene remarks on kayastha girls i the episode aired on Dec 31st. Since the serial is produced by a brahmin that does not mean they have the right to outrage the modesty of girls of our community.
In my opinion if there is any lawyer in our community, they should come forward and file a case against them.
It is totally Agai nst Ethics.

Its such a good effort to reunite the mathurs, but it can also be a big movement if all sons of Chitragupta jee come together not only mathurs after all we all are one. so it should be Kayastha or Chitransh world rather than mathurs world. Hope all chitransh bandhu will be agree with me.

Good to see the definition by Mr. Prashant from Chennai. However, there is another funny definition going around here. It's just light hearted and hope it's taken that way. At the start of the day a kayasth would diligently perform pooja like no brahmin would ever do, complete with slokas, incense sticks and the works. In the afternoon he would indulge into financial and administrative jugglery at his office. A 'bania' could only stare in awe and admiration. In the evening when everything is tied up good and proper, he will then hit the bottle like a blue blooded rajput. And God help anyone who crosses his way. Versatile and adaptable, that's the mantra of success!

I am requesting mathurworld to include in this website so that every Kayastha's to be aware about Chitragupta.

Bonds between school & college friends are often so deep, that even after a long interval, if you meet someone of those glorious years, it sort of revives you with almost childlike joy. The story of Mr. Gyandeep Mathur of Dammam (KSA) and his wife are similar. Who otherwise would search the lanes of Allahabad for a long-lost friend lost 5 decades back !
I traced my school mates of Bombay(30 yrs after), by tracing my old school on the net and posting a message. Sure enough, after sometime contact was established and now we are building upon it.
Mr. Gyandeep, why don't you try the website of Govt. College Allahabad and give it a shot. By the way, how's your wife? wish her a speedy recovery.
Jai Hind.

I more than agree with Prabhat of Jaipur. Unity in itself contains inherent potential. It is a vehicle to generate movement to achieve any substantial goal, and yes sometimes it will help also in establishing the worthiness and validity of the goal.
We need to utilize the platform "Mathur world" has provided us in this direction (hats-off to them for their excellent approach).
NB : I am yet to receive help to reach Kirti (pl. see my message posted on 05/05/2008).
All success to Kayasthas,

I saw a message from Ms Maya from Ratlam on this message board. I too have strong feelings about what's happening, with everybody clamoring for reservation quotas based on their 'strengths & numbers', and not on 'weaknesses' which was what reservations was all about.
It's no good any more, sitting on a high moral stool and lamenting about the unfairness about it all. Our future generations will curse us from the bottom of the social heap that they will surely be in.
I see messages from people in USA, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Europe, all very well settled and contended ,and with not an iota of concern about where our community is heading. That's the level of political enlightenment that we have. We call ourselves literate and socially aware, but we are novices as compared to others. Communities have often been led by people who have attained a certain status and who have a vision and plan for the future. That's what is missing here.
I wish all Kayasths, whether Saxenas, Sinhas, Mathurs, Bhatnagars etc., realise what's happening around them and get together on a strong platform to really introspect and plan for the future. And of course as everywhere, it is the youth who should be on the forefront. They have the energy to give shape to a national movement. High sounding it may be, but prove me wrong!
Sorry to have taken your time, but I thought maybe I can find somebody who is concerned.
Jai Hind,.

Your effort is worthy of praise for the great humanitarian service by providing excellent help and support through this site. I wish and pray for all the success. While proceeding on a short visit to India I promised my wife Kamla to find out her friend and classmate (Govt. Girls College1961-64) Kirti Mathur, resident of Roshan Bagh, Allahabad. But I got shocked when I went to Allahabad and was so sorry to see their house disappeared demolished & no one to tell whereabouts of Kirti. It was an emotional disaster when I told this to Kamla and I did not realize that Kamla has so deep emotional attachment with Kirti, Kamla suffered a nervous breakdown. I humbly appeal for kind help if any one knows whereabouts of Kirti Mathur of Roshan Bagh, Allahabad. Kirti's telephone number and address will enable me to save my wife. I wish Kirti herself may be reading this message.

Regards to all Mathurs and all Kayastha community, I had posted a massage before but I need attention of all Kayastha on a matter don’t u feel that we Kayathas are lees in population in M.P. I mean we are in minority, as we all know that Jain and other casts are taking advantage on the point, once I hard that soon Brahmin will also goanna to be add in reservation coat, than why not Kayasthas, we are also facing the problems or I can say punishment to be in general category not in obc or pichda vara ..
Government is just injustice to us, and it is just because we belong to a literal society, is it fair??????? I strongly believe it is not, it is the time to start a moment, a new revolution ...I invite views and ideas on matter.

My warm and sincere good wishes for all. I chanced upon this site and could not but help browsing through the contents. I congratulate the people and their efforts to put this site. Indeed a very good effort, and sincerely hope it sustains. I am the youngest of a family of four. I stay with my parents, Shri S.N. Mathur, IPS (retd). He is from the first batch of IPS (1948) and has the rare honour of having held concurrently the charges of Director Intelligence Bureau, Director CBI, as well as Director R&AW. My great grandfather, Shri Ram Gopal, was awarded the title of 'Rai Bahadur', by King George V himself, at his court, for meritorious services rendered as the Chief Medical Officer, Poonch (J&K). He was also the physician to His Highness, Shri Sukhdev Singh ji. My mother Smt Prem Lata, belongs to Patiala. Her grandfather, Shri Basheshwar Sarup was the Diwan to the Maharaja of Patiala. My wife, Sangeeta comes from Lucknow. Her mother belongs to the Bali-family of Daryabad.

My eldest sister teaches at a reputed public school in Delhi, and is married into one of the oldest families of Delhi. My jijaji sahib, an IAS officer holds the rank of Secretary to the Government of India. My eldest brother, is an Orthopaedic surgeon, and has set up a 75-bed hospital at Ludhiana. His wife comes from a reputed family of Benares. My elder brother, is a financial consultant based in Delhi. His wife comes again from the Maharaja Lal family of Delhi.

I do design layouts of books for some of the leading publishers. I am most proud of the rich traditions and culture, that we have in our families, and would certainly like to carry it on. Once again, warm, sincere good wishes for all. Jai Ram ji ki.

It was indeed inspiring to see the mathurworld cyberworld of the mathurs. Just one objection please do not refer to any history, pauranic existence, hinduism or our past with the word Mythology. As mythology is something which is based on myth deriving from something which is not a fact but fiction if we don't believe in our Devi, Devtas our past then we can be called mythical characters and our past culture, tradition, religion and gods as mythology but if we firmly believe in them and their existence then our past can be dated back to Pauranic, Vedic or Supremological. Please do not use the term given by the Britishers to Indian Culture and Relegion as Mythological. It was their limitation of knowledge that they could not understand the granduer of our culture, depth of our Spirituality and existence of our Holy Scriptures, Gods and Goddesses and their power that they termed it as Myth & Mythology.
Gar mein hoon toh mithyaa nahin hoon. Gar man mein mere isvar ke prati aastha, shraddha vishwas hain toh vo mithyaa nahin ho sakti.

I landed up at this website accidentally. As regards origins of Kayathas, one theory I heard long back from a Chaturvedi friend (who are as inter-related as Mathurs and also hail from Mathura) is that "Kayashta" is a distortion of the word "Karya-Asth" implying those Brahmins who started "working" came to be called as "Kayasthas". Don't
know how far other "ancient" texts ratify this theory !!! So we are basically "Brahmins".....
